The key highlight of the press conference is the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by IMPACT Exhibition Management (IMPACT), Globe International Events Consultancy (GIEC) & Asian Concrete Construction Institute (ACCI) to collaborate and co-organize Concrete Asia 2016

"Thailand has long been the strategic hub of Southeast Asia and is the 2nd largest economy in the region located in the crossroad of Asia. Thailand’s Infrastructure Development Plan from 2015-2022 with a budget of US$75 billion as well the planned increased government investment on infrastructure development by several neighboring developing countries make it fitting for us to launch this event which we envision as the leading trade, knowledge and networking platform for the concrete construction industry in Asia", said Prof Dai Xianming, President of ACCI.

As the world enters the 4th industrial Revolution, which is also known as “Industry 4.0” defined by the application of Internet of Things (IOT), big data analytics, cyber-physical systems and many other advanced technologies, the concrete industry stands on the threshold of a major transformation that requires economies around the world, including Asia, to redefine and reinvent themselves in order to progress and thrive, according to Prof Dai Xianming, President of the Asian Concrete Construction Institute (ACCI).

In addition, Concrete Asia 2016 is also well-supported and endorsed by industry associations such as the Concrete branch of the China Construction Industry Association (CCIA), Construction Institute of Thailand (CIT), Construction Industry Development Council, India (CIDC), Indian Society for Trenchless Technology (IndSTT), The National Ready-Mixed Concrete Association of Malaysia (NRMCA), The Ready-Mixed Concrete Association of Singapore (RMCAS), Thailand Concrete Association (TCA) & the Thai Machinery Association (TMA).  This industry support together with the co-organization of the event by the ACCI which is the leading professional body in Asia dedicated to the promotion of concrete construction & related activities further affirm the event’s status as the most widely supported concrete construction trade exhibition in the region and showcase the strong confidence by the industry in this event.

This is precisely what the event is about in terms of updating the industry with key technological trends in addition to the effective business networking opportunities created", said Professor Chai Jaturapitakkul, President, Thailand Concrete Association.

"This collaboration between ACCI, IMPACT and GIEC, is indeed very promising and seek to establish Concrete Asia 2016 alongside the region’s ambition to establish a single ASEAN market and encourage intra-ASEAN trade through the ASEAN Economic Community. The event in itself is planned towards the creation of a complete platform for industry professionals in the region to upgrade through education and training, knowledge exchange, as well as networking & new business opportunities which will support the advancement of their businesses. This will be a not-to-be missed event for the industry in Asia”, said Ms Rosalind Ng, Managing Director, Globe International Events Consultancy Pte Ltd, the Joint Organisers.
