The curtain goes up on “SIMA ASEAN Thailand 2016” The largest international agri-business exhibition in ASEAN

Ms. Jintana Chaiyawannakan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives revealed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives is very proud to be the host of SIMA ASEAN Thailand 2016, the largest international exhibition and conference for the agri-business in ASEAN for the second consecutive year as the Ministry sees the importance of the event in helping to support and develop the Thai agriculture industry by exhibitingthe newest technologies and innovations of agricultural machinery necessary for the business at this event. This event has great importance for the agriculture industry because it will encourage farmers to improve their standard of living through education, and bring the newly evolved technology into use in their agri-businesses. Additionally, it  will help farmers improve their production ability, as well as standardize their products and improve their produce in order to match international standards. The  Ministry has also sent 4 departments - the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Agricultural Extension, the Department of Livestock Development and the Department of Fisheries – to exhibit the newest innovation and technologies in order to further collaboration towards the strengthening of the agricultural sector of Thailand.

Mr. Loy Joon How, General Manager, IMPACT Exhibition Management Co. Ltd., said that SIMA ASEAN Thailand 2016 can be considered an important opportunity for Thailand to step up to be the hub of the agricultural industry in ASEAN. The organization of this event has received positive resounding responses from over 300 leading companies worldwide, including renowned brands such as New Holland, Case IH, Yanmar and CLAAS. This year, another highlight for the event is the area

designated specially for the demonstration of agricultural machinery at IMPACT Lakeside, along with experts offering advice and information about the capabilities of the machines. It is estimated that over 20,000 people from over 50 countries will attend this 3-day indoor and outdoor event, which will also contribute to driving the growth of the Thai economy. At the same time, the event will also host several internationally conferences, including the Future Farming Conference, Thai Society of Agricultural Engineers Conference and the International Conference on Sustainable Value Chain as well as over 30 professional workshops & seminars which will host renowned speakers from the agricultural industry.

Mrs. Valérie Lobry-Granger, General Manager of the Agriculture equipment, Food, Construction and Optics (AFCO) Division, COMEXPOSIUM, said that SIMA is an international agriculture event that has been hosted over 75 times in the past 150 years in France. SIMA is a stage that gathers together the widest range of the newest innovations, technologies machinery and equipment in one place, and is a well-known event for buyers, sellers, business owners, importers, exporters, farmers, experts and professionals in the agri-business to meet. This year, the SIMA brand has grown in strength, organizing events in 3 continents – Europe, South Africa and Asia. SIMA ASEAN, especially, has seen exceptional growth, from the size of the exhibition area, the number and brands of exhibitors from Canada, China, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, England and many others – which makes this event into a truly international event. The organizers are therefore confident that the event will draw in investors and business partners from all over the world.

SIMA ASEAN Thailand 2016 is the result of collaborative efforts between IMPACT Exhibition Management Co. Ltd., COMEXPOSIUM and AXEMA from France, as well as having the honor of being hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
