Construction & Building Technology Week : Guaranteed the 4 Mega Shows can serve growing demand of construction industry

IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., together with the Thai Contractors Association under His Majesty the King’s Patronage and CMC Exhibition Services Co., Ltd., jointly organize Construction & Building Technology Week that comprises 4 mega shows to serve growing demand of construction industry. The shows spread over 32,000 sqm. and featured new technology and machinery from more than 1,000 brands and companies from around the world. Construction & Building Technology Week will take place concurrently during 19-21 September 2013 at Hall 5-8 IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand.

Kasikorn Research Center reported that the Thai government has the large-scale project plans include two items that have been statutorily approved: 1) a water resource management project under the Executive Decree authorizing the Ministry of Finance to borrow funds of up to THB 350 billion for water management and future development and 2) a seven-year infrastructure development plan (2013-2020), valued at THB 2.27 trillion.

Moreover given several ongoing public projects continued from last year, plus those to be bid on this year, e.g. an Orange-Line MRT route valued at THB 80 billion, we anticipate that the Thai construction industry will continue to grow. Expansion in private real estate investments will also be another push for the growth. KResearch’s estimate for Thai construction work overall in 2013 is being set at 10.5-12.9 percent growth, valued at THB 1,025-1,047.5 billion, versus growth of 12.8 percent year over year in 2012. The ratio of public construction to private is expected to be around 45:55.

Mr. Pinit Lertudomtana, Director of Building Control Division Department of Public Works, commented “Bangkok has over 2 million buildings with more than 3,000 Large Size Facilities, and over 7,000 condominiums. Safety system and facilities management of the buildings are some of the major concerns for the department of public works, ministry of interior. Building owners must consider these issues as their top most priority as these relates to the health and safety of the occupants, the durability of the facilities and the safety standards of Thailand. The investment will translate into the asset value of the facilities in the long run."

Mr. Viroje Chowjiraphan, Expertise Engineer of Department of Industrial works shared, “Building in Thailand was older than 20 years, innovations and technology has helped our industries to improve the safety and sustainability of our industries. We have also inculcated the “safety by design” standards whereby factories have to make safety considerations on where is the equipment location, the type of materials used and other safety regulations to ensure safety and preventions are in placed in our industries.”
