35,000 Rotarians Descend on IMPACT for Annual Convention

IMPACT prepares for the biggest meeting ever hosted, the 2012 Rotary International Convention, organized for the first time in Thailand. Careful planning and development of facilities, air-conditioning systems, electricity as well as traffic management improvements such as an additional lane and parking spaces will ensure a successful experience sure to impress the over 35,000 international Rotarians during May 6-9, 2012.

Mr. Paul Kanjanapas, Managing Director of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., revealed that as it is an honor for Thailand to host the annual international event, 2012 Rotary International Convention, from May 6-9, 2012. The convention is taking place at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. To serve the expected 35,000 Rotary members from over 160 countries, IMPACT has been enhancing its facilities to meet international standards. In addition to improvements and renovations, IMPACT is also upgrading its facilities to provide better convenience. Several enhancements were done at IMPACT Exhibition Center, IMPACT Challenger, and IMPACT Forum. All air-conditioning and electrical systems were carefully checked to ensure optimal working conditions.

Many outdoor areas have also received attention. Thai style decorations surrounded by beautiful landscaping and colorful flora can be seen throughout IMPACT. Apart from the aforementioned improvements and developments, IMPACT is also concerned with traffic and safety. IMPACT is working closely with security units to maximize customers’ confidence and satisfaction in security at every venue. Another huge improvement is on entrance and exit roads as well as road surfaces. An additional lane has been constructed connecting Tiwanon road for more convenience. Walkways and sky bridges offer easy access from one building to another and increased safety for visitors. For those traveling by car, 2,000 indoor parking spaces have been added to bring the total IMPACT Muang Thong Thani provides to over 15,000 parking spaces.

Mr. Paul said, “IMPACT Catering was chosen to provide food and beverages for the Rotarians. On the 19th of April, Rotary International Convention representatives came to select the menus cooked by IMPACT’s professional chefs such as American breakfasts, European dinners, cocktails, buffet and coffee breaks. All food and beverages are carefully prepared to ensure the best taste, decoration, hygiene, freshness and safety based on the ISO 22000 standards.”

IMPACT has also arranged several training lessons, especially for operations, customer relations, F&B and other relevant departments to improve and maintain their service skills and performance. One of the most interesting and practical training lessons is “Service Mind for Partnership for Success” that aims to provide the best practices for hospitality and how to ensure every customers highest satisfaction with IMPACT’s services.
