The Department of International Trade Promotion has collaborated with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Koelnmesse of Germany to organize THAIFEX – World of Food Asia 2018, Thailand’s preeminent international food and beverage exhibition. The premier event is a significant chance for Thai food entrepreneurs to meet and negotiate highly profitable trade deals with 2,500 food business operators from as many as 40 countries. This year, the exhibition area has been expanded to more than 100,000 square meters, while business days have been increased from 3 to 5 days. The event highlights include Argentina taking part as a “partner country”, and introducing a Product Innovation Zone and Ingredients Zone. There are also product zones reflecting 10 key world food trends and a niche market selling health foods, halal food, organic fare and supplements. The other exciting sections are World of Seafood, World of Coffee & Tea, and World of Food Service. In addition, there are numerous interesting activities, such as cooking competitions, food “carving” and coffee making by world famous baristas, as well as seminars including “THAIFEX – World of Food Asia 2018”, which is set to announce the popularity and savory taste of Thai food, reaffirming the potential Thailand has in becoming the Kitchen of the World.
