January is always an exciting month for the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, and 2019 will be a big milestone for us in terms of celebrating our 2nd decade of being a key active player in the business event industry, infrastructure expansions and upgrades comprising sky bridges and covered walkways, and brand new mini electric go karts that have arrived to entertain young customers aged 5 and above.
Starting our journey in 1998 as an official venue for the 13th Asian Games and founded by Bangkok Land Public Company Limited, we have fully transformed from a venue operator specialized in trade and customer shows along with concerts to a premier year-round meeting and leisure destination. We now have a much boarder portfolio of customers spanning industry professionals, trade associations, government agencies, to name a few. Each year, we captivate more than 10 million visitors from around the globe.
Our 2nd decade thus behooves the newness of perks such as a 360-degree real time application to give customers virtual reality of its meeting spaces plus traffic conditions on a phone, a 20-million-baht donation to support the purchase of medical devices as a part of our continued campaign “IMPACT Touching Heart Sharing Love,” and shopping arcades adjacent to the exhibition center.
Since we completed several pedestrian bridges across the venue in 2018 including a 250-square-meter pedestrian bridge connecting hotel guests to exhibition hall 12 and a covered walkway from the outlet mall to exhibition hall 7 to promote the flow of foot traffic during multiple events held simultaneously, managing director, Paul Kanjanapas, together with the management team agreed to call for renaming 3 major exhibition complexes with the new names below:
- IMPACT Challenger 1, IMPACT Challenger 2, and IMPACT Challenger 3
- IMPACT Forum Hall 4 (in lieu of “IMPACT Forum”)
- IMPACT Exhibition Center 5-12 (in lieu of “IMPACT Exhibition Center 1-8”)
A new fleet of mini electric go karts have arrived at the IMPACT Speed Park to serve young children, which are available seven days a week on a specially designed track located in heart the “Lakeside” zone meaning parents can take in the stylish ambience of the surroundings while children enjoy fun in total safety with the versatile new karts.
