IMPACT restaurants expand into department store and community mall to broaden customer base

Mr. Paul Kanjanapas, Managing Director of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., the operator of IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, revealed: “In addition to being a leading venue that delivers unrivalled services to MICE organizers, exhibitors and visitors alike, IMPACT also manages the Group’s restaurants and its subsidiaries since the venue started to operate in 1999 aiming to offer more diverse food options.It started with Hong Kong Fisherman, a traditional Cantonese cuisine restaurant, and after that it has opened more restaurants serving various types of cuisine.The first IMPACT restaurant outside IMPACT Muang Thong Thani was opened in 2013.

To date, IMPACT operates 24 restaurants, of which 10 are located inside the exhibition and convention center and 14 outside the center, including Hong Kong Fisherman, Hong Kong Café, Hong Kong Suki, Monorah Thai restaurant, fusion-styled Bistro De Champagne, Terrazza, Flann O’Brien’s Irish Pub, Noodle Nation, Ease Café, Tsubohachi izakaya-style Japanese restaurant,
Ito-Kacho fine yakiniku-dining restaurant, and Taisho-Tei Ramen, all have gained popularity among customers. IMPACT restaurant expansion continues to move forward with additional branches constantly opened in Muang Thong Thani area as well as Bangkok’s CBDs and suburbs.

IMPACT restaurant expansion is targeted to department stores and community malls in different locations to suit different types of restaurants and to reach out to a broader customer base. Each restaurant has different target group. For example, Tsubohachi Japanese restaurant at Future Park, Rangsit targets general customers, Hong Kong Suki at Plearnary Mall, Watcharapol targets families alike, and Flann O’Brien’s Irish Pub’s Thonglor branch targets foreigners. Meanwhile, the investment for each restaurantoutlet with 100 square meters of floor space costs around 2.5-3 million baht.
More recently, IMPACT opened two branches of Taisho-Tei Ramen at The Mall Ngamwongwan department store and BEEHIVE Lifestyle Mall, Muang Thong Thani.

Mr. Fang Roonjai, Group Japanese Restaurant Manager of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., added “Taisho-Tei is an authentic Japanese-style ramen restaurant serving ramen noodles in rich and flavorful soup broth originated from different regions of Japan. The first branch of Taisho-Tei, which was launched in Thailand in November 2013, is located at Food Atrium, IMPACT Challenger, Muang Thong Thani. Due to its diverse menu with good quality at affordable prices, the restaurant has receiveda great deal of positive feedback from customers including both event organizers and visitors alike, especially Japanese food lovers, and generates as much as 10 million baht in annual sales.

Following the success of the first branch, Taisho-Tei Ramen has branched out into two locations in the same month; one at Food Hall Zone on the 5th floor of The Mall Ngamwongwan department store and another one at BEEHIVE Lifestyle Mall, Muang Thong Thani (next to SCB Bank).To celebrate new branch opening, the restaurant is offeringa 20% discount on foodat the two new branchesthroughout July 2016. The expansion of Taisho-Tei Ramen is expected to help increase customer base andboost IMPACT’s revenue growth by 13%.
