IMPACT invests 30 million Baht for new storage facility

Published : 2013-06-21

(June 2013) IMPACT invested 30 million Baht to build a new 3,150 square meters storage facility to house tables, chairs and other meeting equipment. The total revenue at the end of March is 2.8 Billion Baht or 40% of growth. More plans on other investments in 2013 expect to reach an income of 3 Billion Baht.

Paul Kanjanapas, Managing Director of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. revealed that, recently IMPACT invested 30 million Baht in the construction of a new storage facility to store all event and concert equipment such as tables, chairs, sofas, stage platforms and podiums. This equipment was originally storedon the fourth floor of the Bangkok Land office building, Challenger Hall, IMPACT Arena and Forum which do not have sufficient space for more equipment.

The facility is located in the P4 parking lot, opposite to Exhibition Center 8. It was designed under an energy saving concept in order to consume less electricity with a total space of 3,150 square meters. The storage can accommodate 70% of all existing equipment and will help reduce the time for transporting the equipment.

This new facility will also help manage equipment requisition and delivery records. Currently, the venue has over 60,000 chairs in twelve different types, over 16,000 tables, plus other accessories and much more. The storage can also be used for maintenance.

Paul Kanjanapas said that, the number of events held at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani is over 800 per year with more than 10 million visitors. IMPACT should prepare equipment and facilities to meet the need of the customers.

However, the MICE market is still growing rapidly as the last fiscal year (April 2012 - March 2013) IMPACT’s total revenue was 2.8 billion Baht, compared to 2011’s total revenue of 2 billion Baht. In 2012, IMPACT increased revenue by 40% or 800 million Baht. This year, 2013 IMPACT expects to earn more than 3 billion Baht from improved facilities and services.

For the rest of the year and early 2014, IMPACT is planning to build another hotel, possibly a 500-room 3-star hotel to complement our existing Novotel hotel. There are also plans for renovation of our IMPACT Exhibition Halls (IEC Hall 1 to Hall 8) to maintain our commitments to offer our clients modern and technologically advanced venues that provide a diversity of solutions and choices.

Nowadays, different markets have different trends and requirements. IMPACT knows that planning a successful meeting, event or exhibition requires more than just a physical location. IMPACT plays host to over 800 diverse events each year ranging from trade exhibitions to consumer exhibitions, large and small scale conventions, corporate events, meetings and seminars, government events, and concerts. Each segment has different requirements and market trends. Hence, our marketing, sales and operational services are not “one size fits all.” They are geared towards meeting the needs and requirements of each individual segment.
